"Live everyday like it's the best day of your life."

As a preschool teacher, Kathy Trager knows how to live each day to the fullest.  She has a caring and supportive approach to teaching that allows each child to explore the world, make mistakes, and learn from those mistakes.  Children learn important life skills, such as responsibility, respect, caring, and problem solving.  In Kathy's preschool classroom, the day is never dull and learning is always occurring.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kathy attended Penn Valley Community College where she earned her Associates of Arts specializing in Early Childhood.  An educator for 30 plus years, Kathy became a teacher to make a difference in the life of a child.  In her words, "To make a difference in the life of a child is to create a brighter future for all of us."

With two children of her own, Kathy knows the importance of family and values the time she spends with them.  During her spare time, Kathy can be found snacking on Mexican food while reading any novel by Nora Roberts.  She also enjoys watching "The Amazing Race" and "Just for Laughs," showcasing her bubbly sense of humor.

"I enjoy teaching at Oakhill because it offers such a variety of programs wrapped up in one school.  Each child is given the opportunity to succeed and learn to their fullest potential then challenged to the next level.  The parent involvement is incredible and so supportive.  It increases the ability for a teacher to gain more insight into the child working with parents together as a team.  The staff supports each other with hard work and dedication.  We all gain a gift of friendship from the heart and plenty of laughs to share."
