Oakhill Tornado 2008

"A house pulled down is half rebuilt"
-Proverbs

In the early morning hours of May 2, 2008, an EF2 Tornado ripped its way through the campus of Oakhill Day School. At first glance, the damage seemed to be nothing more than displaced roofing materials and broken limbs. But once inside, it was evident that the school suffered major damage and would need to relocate for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year.

With high spirits, the Oakhill community began to clean up it's battered building. The positive energy felt by all on this day paralleled the ever present energy driving Oakhill through this past school year. Through tears, the entire Oakhill community has proved that we are much more than a building, but a community eager to seize this moment as an opportunity to grow stronger.

Oakhill is currently accepting monetary donations as well as donations of time and skills. Because of the current state of our facilities, we are unable to accept donations of equipment and classroom items.
