ODS Athletics begins in the physical education class during school and expands to include several extracurricular sports teams. Through the athletics program, we strive to make athletics an integral part of our students experience by teaching and displaying life skills that our students can take with them beyond Oakhill Day School.
Within the physical education class, students learn the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. Students in the elementary division will learn and experience the excitement of being active through working on basic athletic skills and developing an understanding of teamwork. As students progress towards the Middle School division they will gain knowledge and experience about a large variety of individual and team sports, fitness exercises and personal health. While taking part in these activities, students also learn to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship and time management skills that they can carry with them through their daily lives.
The athletic program is developed to aid our students in becoming complete individuals by discovering who they are as people and as athletes. We create environments where students are challenged as both individuals and team players. ODS encourages a healthy lifestyle for both our students and our community and we set the example with our athletics.
