Affording private education takes careful financial planning, so we have provided several options to help you make a significant impact on your child's future.

Tuition Assistance

Oakhill has awarded over $400,000 in assistance for the current school year. Any family may apply. Unlike loans, the recipient is not required to pay back these funds; tuition assistance awards are a reduction in tuition fees.

Due upon acceptance and enrollment:

A non-refundable tuition deposit of 15% per child is due with the signed enrollment contract
Completed paperwork for the current school year.

Tuition Assistance FAQ's

The Tuition Assistance Application process can seem like a daunting one. Here are answers to potentially some of your questions that will make your application process a smooth and successful one. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Admissions Office for more information.

How is need determined?

FACTS completes an analysis of need by using a formula that takes into consideration all areas of a family's financial situation, verified by tax documentation, including:

Income of both parents (taxable and non-taxable)*
Number of dependents
Living expenses
Retirement
Medical Expenses
Debts and unusual expenses

The Admissions Director at Oakhill Day School receives the financial results, which include a recommended award amount, by email. This analysis, along with the family's Letter of Intent, order of completion, and available budget guide the Tuition Assistance Committee in determining whether a family qualifies for assistance and the award amount.

*In situations where parents share custody, both must submit information to FACTS.

How will I receive notification of my award?

Decisions regarding Tuition Assistance will be completed and granted by March 1 for all those who apply by the priority deadline in January; decisions on applications following that date are executed as quickly as possible. Applicants receive a letter of decision from the Assistance Committee.

Once granted tuition assistance, applicants secure their spot with a deposit for the next school year.

Additional Information

Financial Assistance does not apply to fees, lunches, after-school classes, athletics, extended day care, and/or summer programs.

Your tax information may not be complete by the deadline if you are a business owner, self-employed, and/or file an extension on your taxes. If this situation applies to your family:

You may still apply for Tuition Assistance with estimated numbers by the outlined due dates. You must however, submit your later tax filings to FACTS prior to school starting in the fall.
The Tuition Assistance Committee will re-evaluate your award once you submit your updated taxes. Oakhill reserves the right to adjust an award when your taxes are completed and verified. This could mean a decrease or loss of an award if the deviation from the estimated information is material.
You will still be liable for the tuition according to the clause in your contract.
