And it's time to show it off!

Give Back all January with Hy-Vee!

Friends and Families of Oakhill,

We are so excited to share that Oakhill is now participating in the Hy-Vee Giving Tag Program, which is designed to make it easy for customers of Hy-Vee stores to contribute to their local community while supporting the environment.

This opportunity can be taken advantage of during the entire month of January at the Hy-Vee store at 207 NE Englewood Road, Kansas City MO. All you have to do is purchase a $2.50 red My Heart Reusable Bag, follow the instructions on the attached Giving Tag and we will receive a $1 donation!

This is a great way to support the environment and fundraise for our cause. If all of our friends purchased just ONE bag and directed the $1 donation to us, we would receive a donation over $1000!

Let's get started! We can begin by sharing the news of this opportunity with friends and family. Call, send emails and post on social media. The more people who learn about the program, purchase the red My Heart Reusable Bag and use the attached Giving Tag to direct the donation to Oakhill, the more money we will raise.

To learn more about this program, please visit

What is the Giving Tag?

It is a tool to help raise donations all year long. You can raise donations at any Hy-Vee location through the Giving Tag. Donation checks are mailed quarterly, so it is a great opportunity to raise funds throughout the year!

What is the difference between the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program and the Giving Tag Program?

The Giving Tag Program is an ongoing opportunity for non-profits to raise funds at any time throughout the year. Supporters can go to any Hy-Vee, buy the $2.50 red My Heart Reusable Bag and follow the instructions on the Giving Tag to direct a $1 donation to an organization of their choice. The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits is an opportunity for non-profits who are selected on a monthly basis at every Hy-Vee location. The selected non-profit in the Reusable Bag Program is the "default beneficiary" who will receive any donations that are not otherwise directed by the Giving Tag.

What is the cost of the red My Heart Reusable Bag with the Giving Tag?

The cost of the red My Heart Reusable Bag with the Giving Tag is $2.50.

Where do I find the Giving Tag?

The Giving Tag is affixed to the red My Heart Reusable Bag. These bags can be found on the designated reusable bag rack and at various registers.

How did Hy-Vee hear about my organization?

The Hy-Vee Giving Tag Program team conducted research to identify, qualify and screen non-profits for this program. Your organization stood out to us as an incredible non-profit in your local community.

Enrollment for the 2020-2021 School Year

Tomorrow marks enrollment opening for the upcoming school year! It is hard to believe that we are already into the second semester and planning for the fall. Thank you for being a part of Oakhill and for making us your family's school of choice! We look forward to working with you for the coming year.

For students currently enrolled in Pretoddler through Prekindergarten, you are on a traditional contract and will be able to choose your needed days of the week for next year; for students currently in the 1st-7th grade, you are on a rolling contract and will be able to confirm your payment plan via the checklist. No matter the grade of your student(s), re-enrollment is a simple process and we are here to help!

On Monday, your Admissions Office snail-mailed enrollment information, including updates and 20-21 tuition information to all current families. These included the neccessary paperwork, tuition information and an Admissions Enrollment Timeline.

What do I need to do next?

Parents with students currently enrolled in Pretoddler through Prekindergarten:

Included in your re-enrollment packet mailed, you will find the Traditional Contract paperwork needed to complete. This, along with your deposit are due back to Oakhill by January 31, the Priority Enrollment Deadline.

NOTE: After this date, re-enrollment paperwork will be accepted but Acceptance Letters may not be issued until later in the spring.

Once re-enrollment packets are received, Oakhill will be able to send acceptance letters on, or before, February 18. Student placement for the 2020-2021 school year will not be secured until we receive your acknowledgment of each student's acceptance as well as your deposit. We do anticipate full classrooms within our Early Childhood Division, and 5-day students will receive priority.

Parents with students currently enrolled in Kindergarten:

Included in your re-enrollment packet mailed, you will find the Rolling Contract paperwork needed to complete. First through Eighth Graders are on rolling contracts that automatically renew each year during re-enrollment. This will be the last contract that you have to complete. The paperwork, along with your deposit are due back to Oakhill by January 31, the Priority Enrollment Deadline.

Parents with students currently enrolled in First through Seventh Grade:

Students currently in 1st – 7th Grade are automatically re-enrolled for the following school year in accordance to your signed continuous enrollment agreement. Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8, you will receive via email, a required electronic form to complete by January 31. If we fail to communicate by January 31, Oakhill will select the monthly payment plan which corresponds with this year's enrollment.

On your tuition statement, due by February 15, 2020, your deposit will be reflected for the 2020-2021 School Year. If you are not planning to return to Oakhill Day School next year, you must complete and submit the Exit Survey/Letter to the Admissions Office by clicking on the un-enroll portion of the enrollment checklist and completing the form as prompted. The Exit Survey must be done by January 31. Following this date any notifications of cancellation will fall under the withdrawal policy of the enrollment agreement and the deposit will be due.

Affording an Oakhill education

Oakhill Day School is committed to designating a percentage of the budget to be used in granting financial assistance to families who qualify. By providing Financial Assistance, Oakhill can help students realize their academic potential by making its educational offerings more affordable to a broader range of families.

Oakhill uses Financial Assistance for School Tuition or FAST when granting Financial Assistance to families who qualify. We also offer Sallie Mae K-12 loans as another option for families needing help with monthly tuition but are not eligible for assistance. Finally, the MOST 529 Savings Plan is available to utilize for private K-12 institution's tuition charges.

Our Financial Assistance program through FAST consists of three steps:

1. Submit a Letter of Intent

The Letter of Intent notifies the Admissions Office that you are applying for Financial Assistance and reserves a place for your child in the appropriate classroom for the school year. Click here for The Financial Assistance Letter of Intent. The signed Letter of Intent is due to the Admissions Office by January 31 to receive priority on Financial Assistance Award Opportunities.

2. Complete the FAST application online.

Begin FAST Application FAST Applications are due with tax information supplied by February 18 to receive priority on Financial Assistance Award Opportunities.

3. Mail both your state and federal tax forms from the previous year.

With classes on waiting lists and an increasing number of financial assistance applicants each school year, it is critical that any family interested in receiving assistance submits the included Letter of Intent to the Admissions Office by January 31.

Ambassador Referral Program

The best way for any organization to get the word out is through referrals. Word of mouth is a wonderful way to share your experience! Current Oakhill families are the best representation of what our school has to offer and what makes us special. Through word of mouth marketing we can add more great families to the school community – families who look for a partnership, who value education, and who commit to giving their child an educational environment where he or she can grow and develop into a well-rounded individual.

Oakhill offers the Ambassador Referral Program for current families! We provide credit to your account that can be used for tuition during the school year. We do this for each new family referred to and enrolled at Oakhill!

We believe that great families know great families and Oakhill families are great families who value education. Our hope is that you share Oakhill with people in your lives who value education as much as you do, and we want to reward you for doing just so!

This school year, we enrolled 22 new students who came from Oakhill families!

How it works:

If we receive a 5 Full Day student that your family referred, you will receive a $500 credit on your account! In addition to the $500 credit for a 5 Full Day signed contract ($50 per half day), we will track all referrals this school year rewarding those families with the most contacts which come to fruition.

Each school year, Oakhill will track the number of referrals accepted and enrolled by each individual family.

More information on the Ambassador Program can be found online, in the Oakhill Day School Parent Handbook or by contacting the Admissions Office.
