The Halls are Alive... With the Sound of Music!

For the entire third quarter, the South Campus building has been singing along to familiar tunes such as "Do, Re, Mi", "The Lonely Goatherd", and "Sixteen Going on Seventeen". On the evenings of March 6 and 7, the gym will come alive with these songs and other favorites for our middle school musical, The Sound of Music.

Students auditioned before Winter Break for the opportunity to be in this classic show. They have spent their elective time rehearsing musical numbers, learning lines, and making the show come to life.

The Sound of Music was made famous by the movie starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in 1965, but the Broadway production had been running for six years. Written by the famous duo of Rogers and Hammerstein, the musical tells the true story of Maria and Baron Georg von Trapp, along with his seven children, in Austria during World War II.

The 34 members of Oakhill's cast and 6 members of the crew will share the story of the von Trapp family in the gym for two nights only. We hope that you will come to support the drama and music departments, as well as our talented students, for this special performance!
