Drew Clawson (6th grade) competed with 37 other students who all had participated in their classroom, school, and semifinal bees at the Jackson-Clay Count Scripps Spelling Bee on March 16. The competition was fierce! Our own Drew Clawson competed for almost five hours! He was one of the final two contestants and he finished in 2nd place overall! We are THRILLED!
We are beyond proud of Drew and his hard work. He studied over 1200 words from various languages of origin and his parents and sister helped him study. This championship round included 3-4 rounds of those study words and the rest of the rounds (13 total) included "off list" words and they were SO HARD! Drew was a complete professional and spelled like he wrote the dictionary!

Please join us in congratulating Drew for competing and all of his hard work!
