Track & Field - Online Workout Information
Hope online distance learning is going well for everyone! We miss all of you and hope to see you back on the track soon!
As we embark on this new journey of online learning and no team track practices/meets many of you may find yourselves looking for ways to keep your child active while they are at home. This is where the Oakhill track coaches' step in to assist! As we are all being asked to stay at home for the next 30 days Coach Sloan is going to be putting some track workouts together for the track kids to do three days a week. Below is an overview and what you can expect.
What days will workouts be posted?
- Coach Sloan will be putting together track workouts for the kids to do on the regularly scheduled track practice days (Monday/Wednesday/Thursday). Videos will be posted on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday by 12pm each day.
What will these workouts look like?
- The track workouts will be a mixture of workouts the kids do inside their home, with other workouts being done outside since we are allowed to go outside. This will depend on the weather. If the weather is rainy or cold out the track workout for the day may be an indoor workout. On days where the weather is supposed to be nice out the workouts may be more outdoor focused. Coach Sloan will also be providing coaching tips in her videos as well. If a workout is geared towards sprints she may discuss proper form for getting off the start line, as well as proper running form. Hopefully this gives you an idea of what you can expect. If there is something in particular your child would like some pointers on feel free to email Coach Sloan and she will get back to you with some things your child can do. We are here to help in any way we can!!
Where will track workout videos be posted?
- The links to Coach Sloan's track workout videos will be emailed out on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday by 12pm daily. You will be able to click on the link in the email to access the video. The video links will also be posted to the track and field hub page. If you have any trouble accessing the video links you may shoot me an email and I can send you the link directly. Coach Sloan has also made herself available, if your child has any questions regarding the workout they may email Coach Sloan at Jaclynnsloan1@gmail.com. If your child would like more work feel free to email Coach Sloan, she would be more than happy to provide them with extra work!
When will this begin?
- You can expect the first video to be posted on Wednesday, March 25th by 12pm. Following that, videos will be posted every Monday/Wednesday/Thursday.
