Oakhill Day School is taking all precautions to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and well-being of our community (and the greater local and regional community) is our top priority.
Starting Monday, March 23, Oakhill will conduct all classes virtually and all Admissions tours will also be held virtually, Monday-Friday, until we return to campus tentatively on Monday, April 27. Please contact Dorothy Beckham, Director of Admissions and Financial Assistance with questions about enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year.

Basketball - 3rd/4th Boys
Athletic Background/Experience: Coach Smith has been around sports since he was a kid. Growing up he enjoyed doing it all, however, baseball and basketball were his focus as he got older. Since graduating college Smith has coached Baseball (Summer), Softball @ William Jewell College (Softball), West Platte High School Boys Basketball (Assistant Coach)/Head Freshmen Boys Basketball Coach). Currently, Coach Smith is also a coach for the Kansas City Royals 14U Scout team program. Here at Oakhill, Smith is entering his fourth year as the Athletic Coordinator, and his fourth year coaching the second grade basketball team at Oakhill.
Educational Background: Liberty High School (Liberty, MO), Missouri State University (Undergraduate Degree), University of Missouri - Kansas City (Masters Degree)
Personal Information: Coach Smith grew up in Liberty, MO, he began grade school there and continued on to graduate from Liberty High School. Smith lives in the Northland near his family and friends where he enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephews in his free time. When he is not here at Oakhill, Smith can be found in a basketball gym somewhere, or on a baseball field working with kids. Some of Smiths hobbies include, camping, golfing, coaching, and many
Coaching/Playing Accomplishments: As an Assistant Coach at West Platte High School Smith was a part of the Boys Basketball coaching staff that led the Bluejays to a Class 2A - 2nd Place finish at the State Championships (30 - 1 Overall Record). As a player, Smith played for the Liberty Bluejays High School Baseball team that took 3rd Place at the State Championships.
Assistant Coach: Chris Fernandez (1st Year)
Athletic Background: Chris grew up wrestling, playing football, and running track and field while in high school. In college he took his love for running to the University of Missouri where he ran for the Track & Field and Cross Country programs. Coach Fernandez has a passion for running; he enjoys sharing his knowledge of, and love for running with the students of Oakhill Day School.
Experience: Coach Fernandez is entering his first season here at Oakhill as a coach on the 3rd/4th boys basketball team. Chris does a great job of working with the children and bringing out the best in each of them on the court. Coach puts a big emphasis on developing the fundamental skills of each child at this age level. Chris will also be entering his fourth year of coaching the Cross Country team here at Oakhill.
Educational Background: Plattsburg High School (Plattsburg, MO.) University of Missouri - Columbia (College)
Personal Information: Chris enjoys spending time with his friends and large family. He loves movies, and all things movie related! Coach Fernandez has a huge passion for running, he really enjoys helping runners develop their skills and achieve their goals.
Coaching/Playing Accomplishments: As a coach of the Oakhill Day School Track & Field team in the spring of 2016, Coach Fernandez helped guide the program to a City Championship - 2016 - 1st Place Small Class Division!!
