The Global Celebration event on Wednesday, November 5 from 4pm - 6:30 p.m. is an opportunity for Oakhill to celebrate the diverse individuals, families, cultures, and heritages that make up our community.
The Global Celebration committee is inviting you to be a part of the fun by hosting a display table featuring any personal items that may represent your heritage, a country/culture you are interested or passionate about, or display items you have collected from your travels. Displays may include clothing, household items, food samples, information, photos, and teaching a small craft/activity.
The Main Campus Gym will be open on the day of the event for set-up at 2:30 p.m. and students are welcome to help. Any students helping set-up cannot check out of class until after 3:00 p.m. We ask that all displays are set up and ready for visitors by 3:55 p.m., and remain set-up until 6:30 p.m. to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy each table. The doors for the event will open at 4:00 p.m.
The environment is casual and allows individuals to learn and share with their family and friends. Each table will receive a stamp that represents your individual table. We try to match these with the country/area/hobby your display represents, but sometimes the stamps are completely random. These stamps will be used to mark participants' maps/passports as they visit your table. There will be guest performances scheduled throughout the event for participants. In the past these performances have included martial arts demonstrations, Chinese yo-yos, a Russian Opera Singer, and a Kung-fu dance.
*All registrations must be received by October 31, 2025 for consideration in this year's event.
Your participation is integral in ensuring that this piece of our Global Celebration is a success!
