Little Learners, Big Beats!

Student using rhythm sticks

Pretoddlers, Toddlers, and Preschoolers are exploring the world of instruments! In class, we’re playing xylophones, bells, drums, tambourines, sticks, and triangles, all while keeping the beat with these fun instruments. Each week, we focus on a different theme in every grade level, using music to support our learning. Some of the exciting themes we’re working on include the 5 Senses, Transportation, Weather, Nutrition, and Emotions, just to name a few.

Preschoolers are also diving into note values, learning about quarter notes (Ta), eighth notes (Ti Ti), and quarter rests. They’re practicing these concepts by playing sticks to music while reading the notes.

In Early Childhood Music, we absolutely love to sing and perform! We’re currently preparing for our upcoming Spring Fling performance in May. Be sure to check our school calendar to see when your child’s Spring Fling is.

In our music class, we’re always singing, dancing, moving, and learning musical concepts—all while having a blast!
