Oh the Places You'll Go!

Collaboration between different age groups in school fosters a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students. Younger children benefit from mentorship, gaining confidence and learning new skills through guidance from older peers. Meanwhile, older students develop leadership, patience, and a deeper understanding of concepts by teaching and assisting younger classmates. These interactions strengthen social skills, promote empathy, and create a sense of community, reducing barriers between different age groups. By working together, students learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and respect, preparing them for future collaborative experiences both in and outside the classroom.

Preschool collaborated with second grade this week for our transportation unit. Second grade helped Preschool with thinking about a place they would like to go in their hot air balloon. Second grade then wrote down what each Preschool student told them.
