Parental Advisory: We Love It When You're Here!

Oakhill could not function without parent involvement. From volunteering with PTO to showing up for birthdays, from guest speaking to Panther Parties, parents contribute to making Oakhill a vibrant, vital place. We could list hundreds of examples (literally), but here are just a few from the first quarter! Parents are welcome any day, any time, and we hope you'll read this and plan a time to come visit!

To the left, Riga Sutherland, 6th-grader Lily's mom, has been a major help in the Living Lab this year, coming in on Saturdays to work with staff and students. Other parents have joined too, like Shino and Adam Meyer, Maria Nguyen, and Lacy Compton.

Mrs. Trager's preschoolers were excited to see a real police officer in the building! Officer Tyler White, dad of Jameson (3rd), Rowan (1st), and Kelston (preschool), was happy to stop and talk to the students!

Kyle Lackey, father of sixth-grader London, fourth-grader Audrey, and first-grader Zoey, used his past career as a mechanic to help teach the sixth graders about how car engines work!

Katie Alsip, mom of Kindergartener Hailey and Toddler Dylan, was a guest speaker for Mrs. Pavlisin's Career class. Mrs. Alsip shared her experiences as an entrepreneur and multiple-business owner.

Stephen and Ginny Nyberg joined their children, Rogers (8th) and Abbie (6th) at Heroes' Day! Stephen is a veteran with the Marine Corps, and Ginny works in health care.

Michele Cole, mom of Noli (4th) and Leo, shared about Rosh Hashanah in her son Leo's first-grade class!

Many second-grade parents attended the Publishing Party hosted by second graders!

Mary Mathes volunteered at Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day! Her daughter, Evelyn, is in fourth grade.

Alyssa Kimbrough, mom of Aleah (5th) and Tommy, helped her son celebrate his birthday with his Kindergarten class!

Lexie Pohl, mom of fourth-grader Berkley and seventh-grader Parker, was one of several fourth grade parents who helped serve treats for that grade's Kickoff Party!

Seventh-grade mom Julie Rule was caught picking up trash while waiting for son Luke's practice to end!

Erin Rosine, pre-Kindergartener Kauffman’s mom, came to talk about her job during community helper’s week. She taught students how to make a balloon arch, and each child got to help blow up the balloons!
