Plants Are Growing And So Are We!

Plants Are Growing And So Are We!

Plants are growing, and so are we! In Mrs. Lafferty’s Pre-K class, we have been learning all about the life cycle of a plant, what plants need to survive, and the different parts of a plant. Over the next few weeks, we will continue observing our grass seeds, lima beans, and celery in food coloring.

During this week, we made dandelion rubbings, planted grass seeds, and used mixed media to create and label the parts of a plant! These hands-on activities helped bring our learning to life. By exploring art and science together, students strengthened their understanding of how plants grow while also building creativity and fine motor skills.

These activities also supported two important areas of development: fine motor skills and scientific thinking. As students painted, glued, and created their projects, they strengthened the small muscles in their hands. At the same time, they practiced being little scientists—observing, asking questions, and making connections about how plants grow and change.
