A Season of Thanks at Oakhill

A Season of Thanks at Oakhill

This time of year always brings a pause, a chance to look around and take stock of what really matters. For many of us that means family, friends, traditions, and the simple joy of being together. However you plan to spend the break, I hope you get exactly what you need whether that’s a full table, a quiet day, or something in between. My family is sneaking away on a cruise this year, which should be a fun change of pace and a nice break from cooking every dish on the table.

As I’ve been thinking about what I’m grateful for, I keep coming back to this community. The generosity you’ve shown just in the first stretch of the school year has been incredible. I wanted to take a moment to celebrate a few highlights and share what’s coming next.

The Mighty Oak Fund
We hit our annual fund goal of $350,000 by November 1st! That has never happened this early. You made that possible. Thank you!

The Welcome Project
Construction is officially underway and moving quickly. With a little luck we’ll come back from break to see a concrete foundation in place. The groundbreaking last week was a great moment for our school, and we’re only a handful of weeks away from a new lobby and 13 new restrooms. Thank you!

Auction Sponsors
Our annual auction, Oakhill in Bloom presented by Corner Cafe, will take place on April 11th right here in the gym. Sponsors have already committed nearly $45,000. You’ll hear more about this soon if you haven’t already. Thank you!

And the momentum keeps building. When we return on December first, we’ll kick off the 12 Days of Giving to help fund the interior finishes of the Welcome Project. The goal is $60,000 in 12 days, and I have no doubt we can get there. In fact the only reason this $700,000 project is already in motion is because 37 donors stepped up to give us the green light. Thank you for making something that big possible.

There are other exciting plans being shaped across campus too. We’ve hinted at that auxiliary gym for a while now, and it may very well be the next major chapter we share with you.

A season of thanks hardly feels long enough to express how much we appreciate everything you do for Oakhill. Your time, your talent, and your generosity make a lasting difference, and none of it is taken for granted.

Many thanks,
Taylor
