Meet Tim Ziegler!

Meet Tim Ziegler!

I hope the school year is off to a great start in your home! The start of a new school year is full of anticipation, excitement, nervousness and so many emotions. The school staff and faculty feel that as well! At the beginning of each year we work as a team to set school-wide goals as well as personal goals. One goal both Tim Ziegler, Early Childhood and Lower School Division Director, and myself set for ourselves is to bring together the Main Building and South Building. Although located in two different spots, we are all Oakhill Day School!

To help us meet this goal, Tim and I thought we’d switch it up a bit and write about each other as a fun way to get to know each of us a little better. So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the one and only, Tim Ziegler! Tim, or Coach or Ziggy, is beginning his 15th year here at Oakhill. What started as a part-time job in Kids Club has grown and evolved into his current position as the Early Childhood and Lower School Division Director. While we all know Tim as an outdoor loving, health and sports aficionado, here are a few fun facts that you may not know about Mr. Ziegler:

  • He sets a phone alarm for EV-ER-Y-THING … every meeting, every check in, every appointment, every reminder he ever needs has an alarm attached to it. It’s safe to say that if you’re talking to him for more than a few minutes, you will hear an alarm, because that’s how often they go off.
  • His favorite movies to quote include Dumb and Dumber and Stepbrothers. We’re still trying to work out the whole Pam/Pan/Pamm/Ms. Lady situation.
  • Drinks of choice include coffee (black), PRIME, and Celsius. It’s important to note that he’s been drinking Celsius for a while, he didn’t just jump on the bandwagon. In fact, he probably started the bandwagon because he’s just that cool.
  • He has an aversion to ranch dressing and crumbly white cheeses, including feta, blue and goat. He likes mushrooms quite a bit and I’ve even seen him put them on a taco!
  • One year, while attending the Royals home opener, he was seated next to the members of REO Speedwagon. Sadly they didn’t ask him to join them on stage when they performed during the 7th inning stretch. It might have been because he didn’t realize who they were until they got up to perform.

While most of these are fun and lighthearted, I can also tell you that Mr. Ziegler is a man devoted to his faith, family, and friends. He prioritizes these relationships and is intentional about spending quality time with those important to him. Outside of school you’ll often see him volunteering his time, whether planning activities at his church or helping family members with projects. As he and I have worked together over the summer to prepare for this year, I’ve gotten to see firsthand how hard he works and how he places importance on his students and faculty. We’re excited to work together to bring our theme of the Oakhill Way to life each day, in both buildings!
