Meet your Coaches: Fall Sports at Oakhill

Oakhill Friends and Families,

As you read this, just a few short days into the school year, Oakhill Athletics' fall season is already in full swing with Cross Country and Girls Volleyball practices, and Boys Flag Football starting in just a few days. These sports wouldn't be possible without you—the parents, your student-athletes, and the amazing coaches taking time out of their schedules to invest in your children.

I wanted to introduce each of our coaches to you and give them the opportunity to share their "Why." If you didn’t already know, the "Why" behind Oakhill Athletics is to give every student the opportunity to play and compete, regardless of previous experience or skill level. These coaches are excited to take each student-athletes desires and help them achieve their goals, whether it be finding a new hobby, making a competitive team outside of school, developing a love for physical fitness, or the desire to play at the next level and beyond. Our Fall sports coaches are not only experienced in their respective sports but also passionate about seeing your children succeed.

Here’s to a great season of Fall sports—we’ll be having games and meets before we know it!

Witnessing them realize that they can accomplish anything with determination and effort is beyond rewarding. There’s nothing quite like watching them develop a genuine love for running and reaching their goals. It’s also exciting to help unlock each athlete’s potential. Their unique, positive personalities bring so much energy to the team, making every season a fresh and new experience.

One thing you are most looking forward to this season?

  • Running isn't just a sport; it's a journey that brings out the best in us. The pride that comes from lacing up your shoes and trying your best is unmatched because running offers countless ways to win. Every time you cross that finish line, you're conquering more than just the course—you’re proving that you have the mental and physical strength to never give up. The victory isn't just in finishing; it's in showing how far you've come. Every step forward, every second shaved off your time, reflects the powerful strides of improvement you're making. And of course, there's the thrill of competition—outrunning others on the course and pushing your team toward victory, with every runner you pass contributing to the ultimate goal of winning as a team. Running is more than a race; it's a celebration of growth, resilience, and triumph on every level.

One thing you are most looking forward to this season?

  • One of my greatest joys as a coach is inspiring athletes to believe in their own potential—to know that they can accomplish everything they set their minds to. Whether they're the fastest or not, what truly matters is that they have the confidence to finish what they start and take pride in every step of their journey.

Flag Football Coach

Coach Hoss: Boys Flag Football Coach

  • I am excited to coach Flag Football because I have developed a strong relationship with all the kids at Oakhill, and football is my passion.

What experience do you have previously with Football?

  • I played football throughout my childhood and all the way through high school. I received several awards throughout my career. I also spent a couple of seasons helping out with the reigning state champions at Liberty North High School.

One thing you are most looking forward to this season?

  • There are so many life lessons and traits that were instilled in me as a football player, but I am most looking forward to instilling the team aspect into the players. We win and we lose as a team. Everything we do, we will do together, and we will not have success unless we play as a team rather than playing for ourselves.
