Panthers Wanted: Lace Up, Suit Up, Cheer Up!

Panthers Wanted: Lace Up, Suit Up, Cheer Up!

The energy is electric at Oakhill! Our Intermediate and Middle School Fall sports are officially underway, and the fields, courts, and trails are already buzzing with excitement. The best part? It’s not too late to join the fun!

We’ve only had one week of practice so far, which means there’s still plenty of time to jump in and be part of the action. Whether your student is looking to sprint toward a finish line, score touchdowns under the lights, or cheer on their classmates with spirit and style, we’ve got a spot for them! Not sure if it’s the right sport? No worries, we’d love for your athlete to jump into practices next week with zero financial commitment and discover if joining the team is their next big adventure!”

Teams Open for Sign-Ups:

  • Cross Country (3rd–8th grade) – Distance running meets fun and creativity.
    • Next Practice Wednesday 08/27 3:45-5:00 pm

Meet the Coaches Who Make the Magic Happen

Cross Country

  • Head Coach: Chris Fernandez
Coach Fernandez is bringing his love for running (and pure speed!) back to the Panthers this season. If you’ve never been to one of his practices, you’re missing out! From scavenger hunts to minute-to-win-it races to pacing those mile times, Coach Fernandez always has something up his sleeve.

  • Assistant Coach: Lola Heintz
Coach Heintz is truly a jack of all trades. With her passion for running and her endless energy, she was the perfect fit to join the XC program. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she’s ready to help our runners reach new heights this season!

Flag Football

  • Head Coach: Austen Hoss
Coach Hoss is a firefighter by day and a play-calling genius by night. His schedule may vary, but his commitment never wavers. He’s already been holding “unofficial tryouts” at summer camp, prepping his schemes to light up the field. The fastest man you’ll ever meet (seriously, we dare you to race him!).

Girls’ Volleyball

  • Head Coach (6th & 8th grades): Kaitlyn Lafferty
Coach Lafferty is back and ready to lead the volleyball program to another great season. Her passion for the game shines bright, and she’s excited to build on the foundation she’s already created with our student-athletes.

  • Head Coach (5th & 7th grades): William Tefteller
New to Oakhill but not new to the sport, Coach Tefteller brings a wealth of knowledge, certifications, and accolades. Calm, composed, and incredibly skilled, he’s eager to meet the players and collaborate with Coach Lafferty for a powerhouse season.

Cheer

  • Head Coach: Shelby Robinson
We’re launching a brand-new Cheer team for our South Building students and who better to lead it than Coach Robinson? With years of coaching experience and a deep love for the sport, she’s ready to bring spirit to the next level. Her first question when starting was, “Can I do stunts?”—so get ready for amazing performances at volleyball games! (And yes, you can count on the outfits being on point too, haha!)

There’s a place for every athlete at Oakhill, whether it’s racing across the finish line, running the perfect route, spiking a volleyball, or leading the crowd in cheers. Come be part of the fun, the growth, and the memories we’re building this season.

Sign up today, and let’s make this a fall to remember!
