The Oakhill Difference: Summer Camp Fully Charged 2024

I first want to say thank you for another amazing summer here at Oakhill Fully Charged. Our program served over 320 different campers over the 8 weeks. Along with the amazing campers, our program couldn’t be what it is without the camp staff. We had over 30 staff members who were always ready to share a laugh and a smile with your campers. Among that team of staff, there were 10 alumni from Oakhill who wanted to give back the same experience they had as children here. As an alumna myself, I’m eager to share a recent experience that perfectly encapsulates what makes our Oakhill Fully Charged Summer Camp so special. Our camp is not just a place for kids to have fun; it’s a community where our dedicated staff makes a real difference in the lives of our campers.

Recently, I received a message from a parent that truly made me smile. They took a moment to shout out some of our incredible camp counselors: Ava ‘15, Georgia ‘15, Austin, and Jake. This parent wrote:

"I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to some of your amazing camp counselors. Ava, Georgia, Austin, and Jake all came over the last few days to watch Geneva swim at conferences. It absolutely meant the world to her that they took time out of their evenings to come watch her. Kudos to Oakhill for hiring so many amazing young adults! I know they will only continue to do amazing things, but I did want to acknowledge how much that truly meant to her for them to be there!"

Reading this, I knew they made a difference. It’s not just about having fun at camp; our staff truly invests in our campers' lives, showing support and encouragement beyond the regular camp hours. This dedication is what sets our program apart and makes it so memorable.

Our camp counselors are more than just supervisors; they are mentors, cheerleaders, and friends to our campers. Their willingness to support Geneva at her swim conference is a perfect example of the exceptional care and commitment they bring to their roles every day.

I am continually amazed by the passion and kindness of our staff. Their efforts help create an environment where children not only enjoy their time at camp but also feel genuinely supported and valued.

To Ava, Georgia, Austin, Jake, and all our wonderful counselors: thank you for making Oakhill Summer Camp a place where kids can thrive and families can feel confident in the support we provide. Your impact is truly profound, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible team we have.

Sincerely,
