Stretching Tuition Dollars for Your Family

Save on tuition

Helpful ways to save on your tuition!

There are many opportunities available to help families pay their tuition at Oakhill. From referring Oakhill to friends and family to applying for a private loan, there are a variety of ways to make your tuition dollars go further. Your Oakhill Admissions Office is an advocate for your family, helping to share and explain the ways to afford an Oakhill education.

Here are some of those opportunities:

  • Early Pay Discount
  • Merit Scholarships
  • Sibling Discounts
  • Ambassador Program
  • MOST 529 Plan
  • Tuition Assistance
  • Sallie Mae Family Education Loans

Early Pay Discount

Did you know that you can pay your tuition for one or multiple children and receive an early pay discount? If it works for your family to make one payment, you can receive a discount on your tuition. Families also have the opportunity to make two payments at a discounted rate as well. Both of these early pay discounts are available on your tuition after the deposit is paid. More information will be coming, including early one-pay discounts, in late November for the 25-26 School Year!

Merit and Grade Level Scholarships

Oakhill Merit Scholarships are available to incoming students from third through twelfth grade and are renewable each year. Financial need is not a consideration to receive a Merit Scholarship. Criteria for award distribution varies depending on grade level and enrollment status. Merit Scholarships do vary in amount.

Families who would like to have a student(s) considered for a Merit Scholarship should complete the attached form. The Admissions Office will reach out with more information on the process for the 25-26 School Year. Merit Scholarships are available for both current and prospective families!

Grade level scholarships vary depending on the school year starting at Lower School entry and up. Scholarships can be combined with sibling discounts.

Sibling Discounts

Oakhill offers sibling discounts for more than one student enrolled in a given school year! Discounts vary based on the grade level and number of students enrolled.

Do you have an additional child that you are considering sending to Oakhill now or in the future? Contact your Admissions Office for information on the next steps!

Ambassador Program - referrals

We know that great families know great families. Oakhill families are great families who value education. Our hope is that you share Oakhill with people in your lives who value education as much as you do, and we want to reward you for sharing your school!

How it works:
If we enroll a 5 full-day student that your family referred, you will receive a $500 credit on your account! In addition to the $500 credit for a 5 full-day signed contract ($50 per half-day enrolled), we will track all referrals this school year rewarding those families with the most contacts which come to fruition.

Making the MOST 529 Plan Work for You

Did you know that you can use the MOST 529 Savings Program towards tuition at Oakhill Day School for Kindergarten through twelfth grade?

MOST, Missouri's 529 Savings Program, is a "backup plan" to grants and scholarships, derived from the 529 revenue code. There is no minimum to start a 529 account and families with a 529 plan have the ability to save on taxes.

The best part of the program... there are no age, length of time, or income limitations! You could even open an account for yourself if you have plans to go back to school! And this account is a pre-tax way to cover some of your tuition costs each year that your child is an Oakhill student in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

For more information on the MOST 529 program, download their updated brochure, or visit their website at most529.com. You can also check out the Finance Office article for direct 529 contacts!

Tuition Assistance

A large part of an Independent school's Admissions Office is assistance. We want to get and keep great families year over year! Tuition assistance helps us foster a diverse, inclusive and equitable community here at Oakhill.

Oakhill awarded over $400,000 in tuition assistance this school year. Any family may apply and unlike loans, the recipient is not required to pay back these funds; financial assistance awards are a reduction in tuition fees. Financial Assistance applications must be completed new each year.

Oakhill is continuing to work with FACTS to process assistance applications. FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for all applicants. Families applying for financial assistance will need to complete an online application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS. The FACTS program is fully online and can be completed from a computer, phone, or even a tablet.

*Oakhill utilizes FACTS for the entry, processing, and calculation of financial information used by The Financial Assistance Committee to determine the need and recommend award amounts. Awards amounts are subject to the availability of funds.

Sallie Mae

The easy online application only takes about 15 minutes to get a credit result. Sallie Mae offers 3-year repayment terms.
