Oakhill will be out and about in the community this fall; put on your ODS gear, grab a friend, and stop by to say hello! Oakhill's participation in these local events is an excellent way for ODS families to introduce friends and family to the Oakhill Community.

Hangin' with Heroes @ Zona Rosa

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Hanging With Heroes! Don't miss out on this fun, 3rd annual event allowing families of Kansas City to come together and hang with Superheroes, Community Heroes, and even become heroes themselves — all for FREE.

Toss on your cape and join us Saturday, September 21, from 9 am – 12 pm at Zona Rosa's Central Park as we become a force of good in our metropolis!


The Helen Wills Golf Tournament

Join us for a fun day of golf as we honor our beloved Helen Wills, who taught many generations of Oakhill students and left a legacy that has forever become part of the Oakhill community culture. We'll rekindle old friendships and make new ones while raising valuable funds for Oakhill Day School!

Your Oakhill Admissions Office will be at a hole on the course - make sure to say hi as we will have some goodies just for those in attendance!

Gladfest 2024 - Deep Dive into Gladfest 45

Join us in downtown Gladstone, Linden Square, for Gladfest 2024!

  • Friday, October 4, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Saturday, October 5, 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
  • Sunday, October 6, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm (CARNIVAL ONLY - No Vendors)

Oakhill is again sponsoring and hosting the Gladfest Kids' Corner on the Main Building Playground on Friday, October 4 (5:00 pm - 7:00 pm) and Saturday, October 5 (12:00 pm - 7:00 pm). Stop by on either day and hang out with us! We have fun activities and special guests planned throughout the festival.

Little Mr. and Miss Contest 2024

Oakhill students between the ages of 3-8, enter the Gladfest Little Mr. and Miss Contest!

  • Must be a Northland resident
  • 3-5 year-olds compete for Gladfest Prince & Princess
  • 6-8 year-olds compete for Little Mr. & Miss Gladfest
  • The contest will be held Friday, September 30 at 6:00 pm
  • No entry fee
  • 2023 winners are not eligible
  • Dress for the theme - "Deep Dive into Gladfest 45"
  • Winners must be available to participate in the Community Pep Rally in Linden Square on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00 am
  • Recite a simple poem, nursery rhyme, or song a capella
  • Download application!

Show your ODS Spirit at the Gladfest Pep Rally and Festival!

The Pep Rally will be held in Linden Square on Saturday, October 5, at 10:00 am. and will feature bands from each district high school, a patriotic tribute in partnership with local veterans and military organizations, and a short but spirited battle of the bands!

Also featured are favorite local dance studios and karate kids, along with many other parade favorites, who will have an opportunity to be showcased during Gladfest.

Oakhill's Drama crew has a musical teaser at 2:00pm Saturday on the MAIN STAGE for their upcoming production of The Little Mermaid. Oakhill hopes to pack the house! Come cheer loud and proud for ODS!

Other things to know about Gladfest: Gladfest Week Car Line Changes **IMPORTANT**

  • North Holmes will be closed for traffic from City Hall to the Community Center beginning Wednesday, October 2.
  • Friday, October 4, AM car line is regular at both campus buildings.
  • Friday, October 5, PM car line at the Main Campus is regular.
  • South Campus PM Car Line - Friday, October 5, PM Car Line at the South Campus will move to the NE 69th Street parking lot entrance. We are working with the Gladstone Chamber and Public Safety to help with traffic flow. Teachers will walk students to the driveway exit on NE 69th Street (our southeast back corner), and parents will stay on the road in cars. The stop for pick-up will be at the stop sign at the corner of NE 69th and North Holmes Street, and we will load kids in order of cars from east to west. There will be no South Campus parking lot entry that afternoon. 

Remember, these events are great ways to earn Ambassador Referral Credit!
