Atlas Mallams is in his third year at UMKC studying both computer science and physics (astronomy emphasis). While most students complete their internships over the summer, Atlas will be completing his internship while he is taking classes.
His internship is with the Missouri Institute for Defense & Energy (MIDE), which works in partnership with UMKC. During the first month, he will have the opportunity to work on different projects to experience all that MIDE provides and then they will settle into one area. He hopes working on software for signal processing/generation or something to do with cybersecurity. If all goes well, Atlas will have the option to extend his internship to continue working with MIDE in the future.
After graduation, he plans to head to graduate school for Physics.
