Third Grade Presents to Seventh Grade

Seventh grade Communication Arts students are working on memoirs, and they recently had an opportunity to learn from younger students! Mrs. Scheidecker's third graders presented to the seventh graders about biographies they wrote in December.

The third grade students demonstrated poise and presence as they explained each part of the autobiography process.

Then, in small groups, seventh graders discussed their memoir topics with the third graders, distinguishing between autobiography and memoir and giving the third graders insight into what it's like to be in middle school!

One of the Communication Arts Department's initiatives this year is to promote presenting and speaking in the classroom! This was an awesome opportunity to hit multiple curricular goals while also making connections between buildings and across grade levels. See more photos here!
