There's an App for That

History might not change, but the way to study it has come a long way! The eighth grade students in Ms. Robinson’s class had the opportunity to explore a new history app, put out by Verizon, that allowed them to learn more about the history of World War I through a technology experience.

The “WWI Explorer” app lets the students explore the WWI Memorial in Washington D.C. with Augmented reality. Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive technology that combines the real world with computer-generated 3D content. AR can be used to visualize things that would be difficult or impossible to see otherwise. This app also allows students to read articles and explore the AR WWI timeline. Wow! AR is an amazing way to take a virtual field trip in the present to learn about the past.
