Fifth Graders Don't Need Luck: They've Got Hard Work!

Fifth grade has been busy preparing for their upcoming field trip to the School of Economics (SOE). SOE is an organization whose mission is to engage students through hands-on, curriculum-based learning programs to promote lifelong financial literacy. It helps them to understand and apply basic marketplace concepts and skills  and exposes them to business-related careers.

The first steps to prepare for SOE involved completing a job application, writing a resume, and being interviewed. We were fortunate to have a panel of knowledgeable Oakhill staff willing to step in and help us with the process. Students went above and beyond to complete their resumes, and practice their interviewing skills. The interviews went great!

Students were then ready for the next steps: applying for their business loan, completing their shop supply lists, and finalizing their price guides for their businesses. We can't wait to see how it goes on February 21! We would say wish us luck, but it's hard work that's gotten them this far! Check out the field trip on this post!
