Sending Superheroes

Sending Superheroes

Our 4th graders have been busy in the Innovation Lab designing superheroes with unique powers, personalities and exciting adventures! We kicked off the project by learning about creative storytelling through Story Pirates University, where students learned how to develop characters, build settings, and create storylines from the Story Pirates podcasters. Using these skills, our students dreamed up their own superheroes with unique powers, communities to protect, and problems to solve.

Our students brought their ideas to life using Tinkercad and the Engineering Design Process and we’re now 3D printing their superheroes!

Over the next few weeks, our students will record podcasts featuring their superhero adventures -  complete with music, voices, and sound effects.  After that they’ll design their superhero’s trading card using Canva.

It won’t be long and these superheroes will be heading off to classrooms across the country (and Canada!) to begin their own adventures. We’ll be connecting with 35 host classrooms learning about their schools, communities, and the unique stories of their classes.

We can’t wait to see where our superheroes end up and what adventures they’ll have next!
