Wednesday was nothing short of incredible as we came together for our now-annual Mighty Oak Fund Call-a-Thon! With just days left in our Giving Month, we rallied an outstanding team of volunteers and staff to help close the gap on our generous $50,000 match challenge, courtesy of the Perkins Family. Every moment was powered by the spirit and support of this community.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to each of our amazing callers and volunteers who made this day a success. We are especially grateful for the contributions of An Le, Josh Smith, Krystal Pittenger, Kyle Tankesley, and our dedicated Oakhill staff: Dot, Marcy, Sherri, Michelle, Suzanne, Terri, and Taylor. Each of you took time out of your busy schedules to connect with every Oakhill family who hadn’t yet given to the Mighty Oak Fund. Your enthusiasm and teamwork made this all-hands-on-deck effort inspiring for us all!
We started the Call-a-Thon just $18,000 away from meeting the match goal, and that was all the momentum this team needed. From the very first call, we were off to an amazing start—a family generously donated $2,500, setting the tone for a day filled with generosity and enthusiasm! As calls continued, we heard from so many of you, and we even received a remarkable $10,000 donation that brought us over the match threshold.
Thank you to every family—whether you’ve already donated, made a gift today, picked up our call, listened to a voicemail, or opened your Mighty Oak Fund letter. When this community unites with a shared purpose, incredible things happen (and will continue to happen!).
As of today, our total stands at $181,920 towards our $350,000 goal. We’re on an amazing path forward, and who knows? We may have a few more surprises up our sleeves.
