Meet Miss Trejo Our new TA in Mrs. Stout's Room!

Miss Trejo

We are excited to introduce you to one of our new Teaching Assistants, Miss Trejo. She is working part-time in our Toddler classroom with Mrs. Stout. Miss Trejo hopes to provide a safe and positive space for the kids that she works with. We are happy to welcome her to our Oakhill staff.

What position did you hold prior to this current position?

Prior to working at Oakhill Day School I was working as an infant teacher, working with kids 6 weeks old to 15 months.

What made you interested in this new career opportunity?

I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and one day hope to get my degree to do so, I have also always loved working with kids.

What do you hope to bring to this position and/or your students?

I hope to provide a safe and positive space for the kids I work with. I think it’s very important for the kids to feel safe with you.

What excites you about this new position?

What excites me about this position is being able to work with is staff and students and build relationships and just be involved with the school.

What led you to education?

I didn’t always like school growing up and sometimes I found it hard to even want to get up and go to school. I had some amazing teachers in my life that really changed my perspective, and showed what a big impact a good teacher can have on students. I strive to be like them.

What is your favorite memory of school from when you were a child?

My favorite memory from school is when we would have our annual carnival and they would do a fundraiser where we got to pie the principal and teachers, I just remember all the parents and students loving it.

How did you get ready/prepare for your first day of school at Oakhill Day School?

I read the school hand book before I started and I asked as many questions as I could!
