Opposites in Action

Preschool student learning about opposites through science

Our preschool classroom recently spent time exploring the concept of opposites through hands-on learning and discovery. One exciting way our students explored this idea was through a simple science experiment using hot water and cold water to observe how each affected a balloon.

Our preschoolers eagerly watched as the balloon responded differently to the changes in temperature, sparking curiosity and great discussions. This engaging experiment provided a clear visual of how heat rises, causing the air inside the balloon to expand and fill it up. It was a meaningful, hands-on experience that helped the students better understand scientific concepts while reinforcing the idea of opposites in a fun and memorable way.
