Publishing Party

The second graders just finished their first writing piece of the year. This was a Personal Narrative, a moment in their life they wanted to zoom in on and write about. We heard stories all the way from London, to Florida (the beaches), and just in our backyard, Worlds of Fun and St. Louis! 

Students had the opportunity to invite their family members and the teachers invited the school, as in the staff and students to stop by and listen. The rooms were full of guests, authors, and world changers! We heard great reading and questions. 

Each second grader was able to practice public speaking in their own personal space but yet to guests who were interested in listening and asking questions. The students are now asking for a party every time they finish a big piece of writing!
