Deliciously Drawn Treats

7th grade students have been learning about American painter Wayne Thiebauld. He painted ordinary objects and edible treats. He is best known for his still life paintings of cakes and pies. He painted with bright colors and thick paint that showed strong contrast between light and shadow. The students chose a treat to practice drawing and create a composition. Their final drawing was done using oil pastels. They learned about creating form and values to make their treats appear three-dimensional. Here are some examples of their mouth-watering art!
