Yes, Chef! Heard, Chef!

Yes, Chef! Heard, Chef!

Did you know that one of the rotations of 6th grade students is a Living Skills class? This fun, hands-on class teaches the middle school students not just practical life skills of independence and self-sufficiency, but also how to work as a team and communicate effectively. Recently, as part of a cooking unit, these assiduous students helped prepare breakfast and lunch for Oakhill students. Building confidence and comfort in the kitchen are just some of the benefits of the cooking class, but it also assists with math, time management, creativity, and critical thinking skills necessary for enriching young minds. These junior chefs did so well prepping food for the students of Oakhill, that they were asked to prepare food to be served to the Oakhill School Board! This life skills class is just another example of how Oakhill develops the whole child and 21st century learner. Time will tell, but culinary school and head chef just might be the profession for some of these industrious students! See more photos of the fun here!
