Third Grade Explores the Food Chain and the Circle of Life

Our third-grade students recently dove into the fascinating world of the food chain as part of their science curriculum! This lesson brought to life the concept of the circle of life, helping students understand how energy moves through ecosystems—from the Sun all the way to decomposition.

Students created their own food chains, showcasing their understanding of each stage.

One example was: The Sun → Flowers → Bunny → Wolf → Decomposition.

Through hands-on learning, they used their imaginations to illustrate the continuous flow of energy and the interconnectedness of nature.

These young scientists caught on quickly and were excited to see how life cycles repeat, making the food chain a special part of our world.

We can’t wait to see where their curiosity leads them next!
