Third Graders Explore Kansas City's Historical Treasures

Third Graders Explore Kansas City's Historical Treasures

The Third Graders went on an exciting field trip to discover the rich history of Kansas City! Their adventure took them on the local trolley to several iconic landmarks, including the statue of Clark's Point, the historic Town of Kansas Bridge, and the World War One Museum and Memorial.

They also stopped at Crown Center, Union Station, and the Westport area. The students saw the beauty of the JC Nichols Fountain, the charm of the Plaza, visited Loose Park, and saw the Nelson Art Gallery.

Throughout their field trip, they learned about significant battles that shaped our history and what makes Kansas City famous; the stories of Lewis and Clark and the vital role of Union Station were very fascinating!

The highlight of the day was riding the trolley of course, which added the extra layer of fun!

Thank you to our third grade teachers for bringing your Kansas City Social Studies Unit to life!
